Erasmus+

One of the European Union’s main concerns is to promote Europe-wide cooperation in all areas of education. The successful EU Erasmus+ programme for education, youth and sport plays a key role in the development of a common European educational area. In higher education, Erasmus+ offers students, teachers and all employees of a university the opportunity to experience a stay abroad.

Erasmus+ aims to promote lifelong learning, enable sustainable growth, strengthen social cohesion and European identity and foster innovation. The programme focuses on the topics of inclusion and diversity, digitalisation, political education and sustainability, which are closely linked.

In the current programme generation 2021–2027, the total budget for the Erasmus+ programme is approximately €26 billion.
