This hands-on 3 hour Design Thinking Workshop is tailored for students to enhance collaboration and communication while tackling a wicked problem through creative ideation. Participants will use participatory tools to uncover root causes, followed by the Insight-to-Desired-Experience-to-Action Matrix to define the challenge. Ideation will involve brainstorming, brain dumping, and participatory techniques, leading to AI-powered solution development. The workshop culminates in a group presentation, fostering teamwork and strategic thinking. By the end, students will gain practical skills to navigate complex business challenges with creativity, problem-solving, and an innovative mindset, preparing them for real-world decision-making and leadership.
Prof. Nishant Sharma holds the Ramakrishna Bajaj Chair Professorship and is a professor of Mobility & Vehicle Design at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. He teaches courses like Design Thinking for Innovation, Vehicle Form & Aesthetics, and Mobility Design. His research spans Mobility and Vehicle Design, Nature & Form, Special Needs Mobility, Healthcare and Participatory Design. A former vehicle designer with GM India, Aprilia, and Bajaj Auto, he pioneered India’s first Transportation & Automobile Design program at NID Ahmedabad and shaped IIT Bombay’s MVD program. He leads funded projects from ministries and corporations while mentoring startups in mobility and special-needs design.
