All enrolled students – including those who are currently on leave of absence – are obliged to re-register within the deadline set by HSBI if they wish to continue their studies in the summer semester of 2025.
The re-registration period for the following winter semester 2025/26 does not start until 1 June 2025.
Please wait with your bank transfer until you are prompted to re-register by e-mail.
From then on, the updated contributions will also be displayed!
If students fail to re-register on time, they will be deregistered at the end of the last semester for which they were enrolled, i.e. in the winter semester on 28/29 February and in the summer semester on 31 August.
Re-registration is required so that you can attend lectures or take examinations. This includes written examinations, term papers and oral examinations and the colloquium as well. You must also re-register if the submission deadline for your thesis is in the new semester. If only the assessment of your thesis is pending, re-registration is not necessary.
If you are a fully-registered external student (großer Zweithörer), you can re-register with the Registrar’s and Examination Office, submitting a valid enrolment certificate of your primary university. You do not need to apply again.
If you are an external student with limited registration (kleiner Zweithörer) or an occasional student (Gasthörer), you cannot re-register and have to submit a new application through the application portal for each semester!
To re-register, you must transfer the full semester contribution or study programme contribution to the bank account of HSBI specified below. You are automatically re-registered as soon as the payment has been booked at HSBI. You will then be able to re-validate your CampusCard at the corresponding machines. We will send the student ID cards to students who do not have a CampusCard or have not applied for it shortly before the semester starts.
A certificate for submission to the BAföG Office (so-called “Certificate according to Section 9 BAföG / Form no. 2”) can be downloaded and printed out directly in the CAT portal after re-registration.
If you have a new address, please update your contact details in the CAT portal.
The corresponding re-registration information will be displayed in the CAT portal. If you cannot access the CAT portal at the moment, please transfer the re-registration contributions to the bank account below:
Recipient: Hochschule Bielefeld
IBAN: DE11 3005 0000 0000 0625 39
BIC: WELADEDDXXX
Bank: Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba)
Reference: 20251studentIDnumber
Please use only your individual sequence of numbers “20251studentIDnumber” as reference for the transfer.
Example: If your student ID number is 1234567, please enter only “202511234567” as reference for the transfer. Additional information (such as your name or terms such as “client number” or “invoice”) is not required and makes it more difficult for us to allocate your payment correctly.
Please note that it may take up to four working days to book the payment, but that receipt of the payment is crucial for timely re-registration. We thus recommend that you re-register at least one week before the re-registration deadline specified above.
Please find information on the re-registration amounts under Semester Contribution.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Registrar’s and Examination Office directly.
