First, apply online for the study programme you wish to pursue. Please note that you can only enrol in a bachelor’s degree programme with restricted admission (with numerus clausus – to find out whether your study programme is restricted-admission, please see the respective study programme page) or in a master’s degree programme if you have received a corresponding admissions letter from HSBI. For open-admission bachelor’s degree programmes you do not need an admissions letter. You can request enrolment directly after the online application and also upload the required documents (see checklists in the download area on the left-hand side). Please find more information on the application and enrolment process here.
You will find the enrolment deadline for your application in the application portal as soon as you have submitted the application and you have received the admission. Please make sure to check the deadlines in the application portal regularly. For restricted-admission bachelor’s degree programmes, all master’s degree programmes and all certificates, the enrolment deadline will also be communicated in the admissions letter. You must request enrolment online in the application portal within this deadline.
To find out which documents you must upload in the application portal as part of enrolment, please see the enrolment checklists (see download area on the left-hand side) and the menu item “Upload enrolment documents” when enrolling in the application portal.
We can only process your enrolment if you have uploaded all the documents required as a readable PDF file and if we have received your insurance or exemption confirmation from a statutory health insurance provider (this is the usual process for which there may be rare exceptions).
After completing your online enrolment, you will receive all relevant information in a single PDF file once more. Among other things, you will find the deadline for uploading the enrolment documents there.
As part of the online registration process and subsequently in the PDF document “Informationen zur Einschreibung”, you will be able to view the semester contribution you have to pay and the bank details and reference number for the bank transfer. After we have booked the transfer of your semester contribution in our system and after the Registrar’s and Examination Office has received all required documents (including the digital notification of your health insurance), you will receive a letter with the credentials that you need for using HSBI’s online campus. It may take a few days until you receive the letter. Students who were already registered at HSBI in the past or still are usually keep their student ID no. and thus their credentials for HSBI’s online services. If you have forgotten your credentials, please contact the IT ServiceDesk.
