Zoom

The Data Processing Centre has signed a campus license agreement with Zoom Video Communications for the product Zoom Meetings. Zoom Meetings is an application that can be used to conduct video conferences and provides users with a variety of additional features such as screen sharing, whiteboard and chat.

To use Zoom Meetings, one-time registration with your university e-mail address, your first and last name and an individual password is required. After that, you can use the full range of functions immediately. When setting an individual password, please make sure that you do not use the personal password of your university login.

You can use Zoom Meetings via a desktop application (Windows, MacOS, Linux) or from an app on your mobile device in Android and iOS.

Data transmission in Zoom meetings is carried out by means of transport encryption, which relies on AES 256-bit GCM. You can also conduct end-to-end encrypted (E2E) meetings; however, this means that access to meeting data is limited to the host and the meeting participants.

Please find further documentation and help on the manufacturer’s website:

Technical support for the use of Zoom Meetings is provided by the university’s IT ServiceDesk.
