As part of Bielefeld’s mobility strategy, regional transport has set up a public bicycle rental system in cooperation with the City of Bielefeld, Bielefeld University and HSBI.
These bicycles are available at fixed locations in the city centre, in front of the HSBI building and at selected bus stops in Bielefeld. Students can use the bikes for free for the first 60 minutes of each rental and benefit from a discounted night rate on weekdays.
Each rental station is marked with the “FlowBie Siggi” logo and appears in the “Siggi Bike-Sharing” app.
How does it work?
You can rent a bike via the “Siggi Bike-Sharing” app, which is also used for payment. Students can use the bikes for free for the first 60 minutes of each rental and afterwards pay a 3-euro flat rate on weekdays for the night tariff from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. the next day. To be able to use these special rates, students will receive a discount code.
You can obtain the discount code through the university’s software portal.

The code must be entered once during registration in the app under “Account-Einstellungen > Partner verknüpfen > Fachhochschule Bielefeld.” The app is available for iOS and Android devices.
