Method and device for recognizing object as source of V2X signal

The invention relates to a method for identifying an object as a source of a V2X signal, comprising the following steps: receiving the V2X signal from the source by means of a receiver of a first vehicle, performing a relative position estimation by means of an environment sensor of the first vehicle, an object from the environment of the first vehicle is detected by means of the environment sensor, a relative position between the first vehicle and the object, in particular a second vehicle, is determined by means of the environment sensor, the environment sensor receives an environment signal of the object, and the relative position of the object is determined by means of the environment sensor. The object modulates the ambient signal at least by means of a part of the V2X signal of the object; receiving the modulated environment signal by means of an environment sensor of the first vehicle and demodulating the received environment signal by means of a signal processing unit of the first vehicle and ascertaining a V2X identification of the object therefrom; -comparing the V2X identification of the object with the V2X signal of the source, the object being recognized as the source of the V2X signal if the V2X identification of the object and the V2X signal of the source have a sufficient correlation.
