A dedicated MEMS harvester operated with a non-resonant excitation scheme is proposed. In context with this novel operation scheme, dissipative damping mechanisms have to be taken into account for the MEMS design. In this work we investigate the fluid-structure interaction of the energy harvesting MEMS generator with the surrounding gas. According to the design requirements, a COMSOL simulation setup is described. Simulation results are presented and discussed with respect to experimental results.
