Abstract
Nowadays, smart textiles are an important part of the study of textile and clothing technology. The ideas and principles on which intelligent textiles are based can be taught well in a lecture. The practical problems, however, can easier be recognized by own experiments. Thus, the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology of Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences has introduced a new course “Practical Realization of Smart Textiles” to offer students the possibility of realizing own ideas of smart textiles.
