However, this design freedom is accompanied by\r\nthe reduced reliability and real-time capability of the wireless\r\ncommunication.\r\nTo put these advantages and disadvantages in the required\r\nrelationship, we introduce a use case analysis of typical factory\r\nautomation applications within this paper. Additionally, we compare\r\nperformance indicators of industrial communication systems\r\nto enable the evaluation of the arising hybrid wired/wireless\r\nnetworks with regard to the requirements. Especially reliability\r\nparameters like the packet error rate (PER) are often only\r\nweakly linked to their industrial application.
