Abstract
Power line communication technology (PLC) is still promoted by power distribution companies. The new approach is a broadband Internet connection for rural regions based on PLC. A new application for PLC is an Ethernet connection between two computers. Several papers showed the negative influence on the signal to noise ration of short-wave based services [1-4]. This contribution shows the significant influence on the sensitivity of a real short-wave receiving station with a PLC application in the neighborhood.
