Within the scope of a master thesis in cooperation between the University of applied Sciences in Bielefeld and Deutsche Bahn Systemtechnik, the verification is carried out using the example of a simulation model of the BR120 locomotive.\r\nObjectives are an estimation of the modelling effort, the model quality and the range of application of the simulation model. In this article, the current state of the art for verification according to EN14363 will be presented. As part of the european dynotrain project, the BR120 locomotive the running behavior was tested on several european lines and under different conditions. In the master thesis, a simulation model was set up in SIMPACK and the data determined by the testing were reviewed and prepared for the use in a verification process.\r\nAfterwards, the model is verified in dependence on Annex B of EN14363 by simulating twist tests and tests on curves with small radii. Simulation and test results are compared. The verification according to Annex T is script based with a partially automated evaluation.
