Data can be stored in the core polarity and/or the vortex chirality. While magnetization reversal in magnetic nanodots occurs via vortex states for a broad range of dimensions, defining and switching core polarity and/or the vortex chirality is less simple. For single nanoparticles, previous studies found that a tilted field pulse can be used to switch these values.
