Abstract
Vortex states in magnetic nanodots are of high technological interest for data storage applications due to the reduced in-plane stray fields. Data can be stored in the core polarity and/or the vortex chirality. While magnetization reversal in magnetic nanodots occurs via vortex states for a broad range of dimensions, defining and switching core polarity and/or the vortex chirality is less simple. For single nanoparticles, previous studies found that a tilted field pulse can be used to switch these values. Here, the influence of a constant tilted field in addition to the switched external magnetic field on a small nanodot cluster is investigated.
